Bloop

The Bloops are perhaps some of the strangest of the common creatures on [Redacted]. A floating blob of green goo, with two little eyes and a small mouth, and above the Bloop’s body, a halo glowing with a golden light.

Truthfully, no one has the slightest idea what Bloops are, where they come from, or how they continue to exist. Their bodies, being essentially fluid, allow them to move through the tiniest of gaps, and their halo will just blink out of existence wherever they left it behind and reappear above the Bloop once there is enough room for it to do so.

Since there is no logical explanation for the Bloops, magic is pointed to as the likely culprit. But then what kind of magic created these things? And so, the cycle of questions continues.

The scholars of [Redacted] currently offer a bounty to anyone able to find the source of the Bloops. Whoever succeeds will earn themselves a place in the pages of science for generations to come. Some believe that the bodies of Bloops can be brewed into various potions, with supposed effects ranging from curing minor diseases to alertness, anything in between and beyond. This is still unconfirmed, but with the creature being so common there’s a plentiful supply of test subjects.
